Christmas Countdown Dec. 14 – Knit Ornaments

It’s funny the things that bring a (happy) tear to the eye. Searching through the archives from my store, I knew I’d kept the handmade cards my parents (who sadly, are no longer with us) made for the shop – Dad did the drawings, Mum made the knitted accessories. What I didn’t know I still had, was my mother’s handwritten instructions for little knitted stockings which were created for a different card design.

Named after my mother, I’ve called this pattern Beryl’s Little Christmas Stockings. As the original design was intended to be fixed flat against a card, I’ve written additional instructions so that a matching “back” can be made, so both sides can be sewn together to make a tiny stocking that opens at the top for a lovely knit ornament.

Christmas Countdown Dec. 10 – Dish Towel

I have been using this Dishtowel since I designed it back in March (published in April), and it looks exactly like it did the day I made it! This yarn really does stand up to the constant wear and tear of life in a kitchen.
