Hi, Makers, I’m Michelle Moore, the driven creative behind MJ’s Off The Hook Designs.

Like many, I was taught to knit at a young age by my Nan, my first projects were small scarves for my Cabbage Patch dolls! They were far from perfect, but it felt good creating something with my own hands. It wasn’t until years later with a family of my own that I decided to pick up knitting again, and although the extent of my skill was no more than the scarves of my childhood, the desire to build on and expand those skills was strong.

In Fall 2012, my daughter joined a knitting and crocheting club at school, and my interest was sparked. I picked up a how-to CD, some yarn, and a couple of hooks, and my love affair with crochet began.

Many of my designs are inspired by my 4 children.  I love creating fun, whimsical designs that bring joy and laughter.  Many of my hooded and cocoon blankets have gone viral selling now in over 85 counties.  In 2015 I was featured on Tyra Banks FabLife TV show in her step-by-step guide on how to make thousands off your Hobby.

More recently, I’ve developed a love and connection for luxury fibers and sought out a way to share that with others. In March 2017, Sentry Box Designs was born. This project launched with the goal of offering yarn-lovers a crochet pattern haven of fashionable garments and accessories best complimented by those luxury fibers, a way for makers to take a moment and splurge on themselves when they’re so used to creating for others.

I strive to bring inspiration to the crocheting community through creative pieces, driving the idea that crochet can be trendy, fun, and modern.

Easy Crochet Slippers

If you need a last-minute quick and cozy holiday gift?  Then look no further! My quick and easy velvet ballet slippers will keep your feet toasty and stylish.

These slippers are designed in Mary maxim Baby Plush, a soft 100% polyester velvet yarn. They would also work up great in Premier Retro velvet.  The velvet yarn makes these slippers so luxurious and soft.  Definitely a treat for the feet.  Don’t worry about slipping, the velvet actually sticks well to hardwood floors.

A basket filled with spa goodies and a pair or 2 of these slippers would make the perfect gift for loved ones young and old. The pattern includes child sizes 9/10 up to 4/5 and Adult sizes from 4/5 to 12/13.

Crochet Slippers Tutorial

If you’re a visual learner a Youtube video is included for child-size 2/3,  you can watch the video here

YouTube video also includes a tutorial for the tiny pompoms made from faux fur ribbon.  The faux fur is a modern touch to these slippers, but you could also make tiny pompoms with any regular worsted weight yarn.

Make sure to check your gauge with this pattern. It’s very important for the correct fit.  These slippers will stretch out after wearing so they will initially be a tight fit.  These have been a popular design, and I hope you enjoy them!

  1. I’m sure this pattern is very nice, but the clue to how to download the free pattern has remained a big mystery. Yes, I’m signed up and received an email with a link to this page, but then what?

  2. I can’t find thedownload link for the free pattern. It’s it only free for the child size in the tutorial? It reads like the all sizes pattern is free.

  3. I was unable to download this free pattern, Easy Crochet Slippers. Where do I find it? Please advise. I tried everything.
    Thank you for your assistance.
