Hi crocheters, my name is Valentina, the person behind Sayens Crochet.

I’m a Chilean woman living now in Canada. I have 4 beautiful kids. And it is because of them that I started to crochet.. well, actually I learned to crochet when I was a teenager. My mother taught me a bit but never finished anything.

I’m a primary teacher as a profession, but I discovered my passion when I decided to stay at home with my kids.

I started then with simple things for them, as scarves and hats… people started to rave with my creations, so I started to sell them.

I discovered the amigurumi world when I get pregnant with my 4th boy. I wanted to make something different, so I tried a giraffe, and the result was magic for me! So I fell in love, as simple as that.

In March 2019 I decided to create my own patterns, and it started as a wonderful experience because one of my first patterns went viral! (Maybe you heard about it? The hatching unicorn egg)

Since then, I have never stopped crocheting amigurumi. I love how you can express yourself by something made with your own hands….every amigurumi that I do has a lot of love and dedication, and every piece has a special value for me.
You can see my work on all social media: my blog, where you can find some free patterns, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and I also have some tutorials in Spanish on my Youtube Channel.

Jingle the Amigurumi Reindeer

This year, a very difficult year for the world, you know, my goal was to decorate my home as much as I can with crochet, I created 10 amigurumi ornaments (which are free on my blog), and this reindeer it’s part of the decor for the base of my Christmas tree.

His name is Jingle, and he’s in charge of keeping an eye on the ornaments… you know, with 4 kids sometimes it’s hard to keep the ornaments in its place, and you can always give life to amigurumis, my kids know that Jingle is there with a mission! The material I used it was Bernat Velvet, is my first time working with this yarn, and I love it! It’s so soft and easy to work with that I’m already imagining my next pattern using this yarn. And as I told you, I don’t draw, but from a few weeks ago I’m working with a graphic designer who draws from my designs, so my next patterns, including Jingle the Reindeer, will include a greeting card so you can give to your loved ones. In this case, is a Christmas card that is included once you download the file using the coupon. Isn’t it fantastic?
