The warm weather may be in full effect, but here at Mary Maxim this time of year means our Fall catalog hits homes and we couldn’t be more excited to share with you some of our new items.
Aspen Yarn is a roving type of yarn with a subtle color striping when you work with it, and comes in 6 rich colors. This yarn is a Bulky weight yarn with a suggested needle size of 10.5 (6.5 mm) and a gauge of 13 stitches and 18 rows to 4″ using this needle size, or any needle size needed to obtain this gauge. Aspen is 100% acrylic and has the easy care of machine wash and dry, so it is a wonderful choice for gifts.
Starlette Sparkle has taken one of our classic yarns and added a bit of pizazz. Available in 7 bold colors, Starlette Sparkle is a great choice for holiday projects, or any project you want to add a little extra special touch to. The yarn is our same Starlette premium worsted weight acrylic , just with an added sparkle, with the suggested needle size of 8 (5.0 mm) and a suggested gauge of 18 stitches and 24 rows to 4″.
A new poncho that has caught the attention of everyone who has walked by it in the office is the Double Delight Poncho. This Poncho has a Missoni look, using 2 contrasting colors of Mary Maxim Prism yarn knit in a ripple pattern. This kit will make a poncho from Extra Small up to a 2xl ( 28-50″) and requires a 24″ circular needle size 8.
The Eyelet Yoke Poncho is a chunky, warm topper that could go over just about any outfit. Using Quick yarn , this project is knit from side to side on straight needles, and because of the size 17 needles, can be knit up in no time. This kit comes in 2 sizes, the first size with a 50″ opening on the bottom, which fits from a size Extra Small to a Medium, and the second size with a 64″ opening at the bottom, fitting a Large to 2XL. You can choose any color of Quick yarn you would like.
If you love the look of cables but aren’t a knitter, the Crocheted Celtic afghan is an excellent choice for you. Using Mary Maxim Starlette yarn, this blanket combines a classic basketweave pattern with cabled detailing.
The Staghorn Lace Throw uses our super soft Woodlands yarn, which is an acrylic and alpaca blend. Panels are knitted individually, then sewn together, so this is good for an intermediate knitter because you don’t have to worry about color change, but get the challenge of some new cables. You can choose any 3 colors of Woodlands yarn to make this project your own.
We hope you’ve enjoyed this look into a few new items for our Fall Catalog, keep watching for more! Which item are you most excited to make or try? Comment below!
